Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read has revealed that Liverpool are his Premier League favourite club.
In the last few years, Liverpool has become one of the most attractive clubs for players.
It is not rare to find players these days declaring a desire to join the Reds should a bid come.
There is also a good reason for this, with Liverpool guaranteeing trophies.
Under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds collected almost every available trophy, and there is already evidence on the ground that the upward trajectory will continue under Arne Slot.
The Dutchman has already led Liverpool to the Carabao Cup final, and his side sits at the top of the Premier League table with a seven-point lead.
He is also in the next round of the Champions League, suffering his only disappointment in the FA Cup so far.
Slot has done this without spending much in the transfer window.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is a target of a mega-money charm offensive from Real Madrid, could leave Anfield for free by the summer unless he agrees on a new Liverpool deal.
Several players, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, have been named as a potential replacement for Alexander-Arnold.
However, Liverpool may also decide to look at Feyenoord for a possible solution given that they have a fan in the club’s right back, Givairo Read.
The 18-year-old is one of the emerging talents at the Dutch club and could interest Liverpool!
He has made 13 league appearances for Feyenoord and was in the starting XI in the club’s last UEFA Champions League game against AC Milan.
Read has already shown he could fancy as move to Anfield from his comments in a recent interview.
When asked to pick between Manchester United and Manchester City as his favourite team in the Premier League, the 18-year-old Feyenoord right-back said:
“Liverpool, for sure?
Nothing else, no one else.”
Perhaps Givairo Read made a choice due to the presence of former Feyenoord manager Arne Slot, who is now in the Liverpool dugout.
Though predominantly a right back, the 2006-born Read can also play the left-back position.
